Double Bass Faculty

A native of Cincinnati, Chance Dunaway is excited to be a part of the faculty of the Immanuel School of Music. Specializing in both the Double Bass and Electric Bass, Chance plays a diverse range of styles from Classical to Hip Hop, and everything in between.

As a Classical musician, Chance has performed in professional orchestras across the Midwest including the Richmond (Indiana) Symphony Orchestra, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Saint Joseph Symphony, and the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, where he served as Acting Principal Bass during the 2015-2016 season.

As a Jazz musician, he has been fortunate to share the stage with artists such as Bob Thompson, Rob Parton, Roland Vazquez, and Sean Jones.

Chance received his Bachelor’s Degree in Bass Performance from Ohio University, and his Master’s Degree in Bass Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers include Matt Zory, Garry Wasserman, Sidney King, and Jeffrey Kail.
