Dana Smith

Sonshine Preschool Director

Dana is a Disney fanatic who has a passion and love for working with children.  She tries to live by the motto of "never grow up." After graduating from college, Dana worked in the field of Human Resources where she had the opportunity to develop, train, and manage others.  While her time in HR was invaluable, she always felt that God was calling her to work with children.  When she started working at Sonshine Preschool in 2016 she knew that this was exactly where God wanted her to be.  She believes that children learn through play and experiences.  She believes in creating an environment where kids feel safe, secure, and free to learn through exploration and hands on play.

When Dana is not at the preschool making messes with her students, she can be found at home making messes with her own children.  Dana and her husband Mike were married in 2002 and have four beautiful children, a sweet dog named Clare, and a chinchilla named Cheerio.  Dana stays busy watching her children participate in various sports / activities and when they have free time, they can be found using their season tickets to watch the NKU Men's basketball team play.  They are hoping to be able to watch their oldest daughter dance on the NKU dance team this coming school year.
