Natalie Orth

Violin Faculty

Having over eight years of experience as a violin teacher, Natalie is as passionate about teaching the violin as she is about playing. She believes in a loving and patient approach to teaching and feels that given the right tools and skills, anyone can learn to play the violin no matter their age or ability. In 2018, she traveled to Pittsburgh and completed Unit One of the Suzuki Violin Teacher Training program. Throughout college and during the year before starting graduate school, Natalie built up a large private studio of eighteen violin students. She piloted a strings program at Nativity Elementary School, leading weekly violin group classes to young students. When she lived in Chicago, she taught for the DePaul Community Music Division, giving private violin lessons and group violin classes. Natalie hopes to instill a lifelong passion for music, learning, and creativity through violin playing in her students.

A native of Cincinnati, Natalie began her violin studies at the age of seven with Mrs. Jacquie Fennell. In 2020, Natalie completed her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance at the College Conservatory of Music where she studied with Timothy Lees. During 2017, Natalie placed runner up in the College Conservatory of Music’s Undergraduate Scholarship Competition. In 2018, she won third place in the Matinee Musicale Nancy F. Walker Memorial Scholarship Award. Natalie is currently earning a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance at CCM.
