Mozart and Beethoven Strings Director


Susan Sullivan received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morehead State University and Master of Arts in Education (counseling emphasis) form Eastern Kentucky University.

She retired as an instrumental music teacher from the Kenton County School District in Kentucky after 27 years of service. Her responsibilities included concert band, jazz ensemble, guitar, and keyboard classes.

Ms. Sullivan was very active with professional groups serving as President and Secretary of District 6’s Northern Kentucky Band Directors, Kentucky Music Educators Association District 6 Instrumental Events Coordinator, KMEA Festival Commission, honor band guest conductor, and KMEA Assessment adjudicator. Susan is a current member of KMEA, Phi Beta Mu Honor Fraternity for Band (retired), and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association.

Susan has served as adjunct professor in music education at Cincinnati Christian University in addition to serving as a substitute teacher in Kentucky and Ohio. She remains actively involved in music, participating as a keyboard/synth/bass player on her church music worship team.

Since retirement, Susan started taking cello lessons and continues to enjoy many opportunities that this activity has presented. Her work with the Immanuel School of Music began in August 2017, serving as the director for the Mozart and Beethoven Strings program.

Her spare time is spent enjoying her hobbies of running and golfing.
